No new sewing to report on my end, but I just noticed that the model and shirt sample for this Burda pattern look a lot like Dan and the shirt I made for him for Valentine’s day:
Uncanny, right? But I like mine better :)
Because I only want to sew stuff if it's for me.

I’m gobsmacked! Does Dan lead a double life? Male Burda model by day, TSS husband-to-be by night?

That’s awesome… Burda is now creating Selfish Seamstress knockoffs. This is how you know you’ve arrived. ;)

Not only to I like your better, but I like your styling better. Purple shirt with pleat front khakis? Really, Burda? Jeans are a better way to go.

I totally agree, jeans all the way, I don’t know any young man who likes pleated front pants and the fit is rubbish, if Burda are intent on copying TSS then they should try a little harder ;)

They really do look very similar. But you’re right. Yours is better. Of course.

They ARE copying you, but you know you have the Original.

That is so uncanny – or else their stylist follows your blog!

Not only do I think Dan is WAY more appealing than the plastic ken-doll model, but I like your shirt a lot more. The half-placket in menswear does nothing for me. At least not this one.

Dan’s cute and all but he’d look better in those AG cords Cathy fished out of the dumpster.

Ha ha ha! Are you sure you know exactly where Dan is at every moment? I think it might just be the same hunk. Your version is much better. Even the pants are a much better fit.

Hmm, did you mean the shirt or the man? Well, either way!
Yeah your shirt’s way better, but I think he’s moonlighting on the catwalk.

That is actually scary how much Dan looks like that Burda model! Are you sure he doesn’t have a side modeling gig that you don’t know about? ;)
