So call it £22 a metre (to account for a metre being more than a yard) and then factor in that it’s silk and gorgeous silk at that and then factor in that people in the US aren’t paying high international shipping rates, and then it doesn’t seem so bad. At least in theory.

I think my most expensive fabric in the stash was £10/m, and I will consider that price again when I’m feeling flush. But given that I was a student for four years, and then was unemployed for one, and then paid for a wedding and have now only just had my fifth full-time paycheck…. proportionately that £10/m is probably actually worse than your $27/yard with international shipping!

(How bizarre, to be exchanging online niceties with the SS….)
